LITTLE WOMEN

February 14th 2025

The Little Women musical tells the coming-of-age story of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy—growing up in Concord, Massachusetts during the Civil War. At its heart is Jo, a fiercely independent young woman determined to become a writer, who struggles with balancing her ambitions against family responsibilities and love. Meg seeks romance and stability, Beth embodies kindness and musical talent but faces illness, and Amy longs for refinement and recognition. Their neighbor Laurie becomes entwined in their lives, especially with Jo, whose rejection of his proposal highlights her desire for independence. As the sisters face joys, heartbreaks, and Beth’s tragic death, Jo learns to channel her grief into authentic writing. Ultimately, she finds both her voice as an author and unexpected love with Professor Bhaer, while her sisters pursue their own dreams. The musical blends humor, warmth, and poignancy, celebrating family bonds, resilience, and the pursuit of one’s passions.

PATRICK KIM

Master Carpenter/
Line editor

This was the first production where I was officially designated as Master Carpenter, which felt like a milestone. Although my technical director had to leave mid-season due to a medical emergency, I learned to quickly delegate tasks and manage the crew. It was daunting to carry the responsibility of finishing the set, but I discovered how to balance leadership with mentorship, ensuring others could learn while contributing.

I gained confidence in task management and set construction, especially in coordinating builds under time pressure. I also began refining my skills in editing scripts and aligning technical work with narrative flow, bridging the gap between carpentry and storytelling.
